Castelmola

Ancient mountain village with Roman origin and then Medieval on a hill at 400 mt (1300 ft) above the sea level located over Taormina. The view is amazing: Jonian sea, Mazzaro' and Siren bay, Taormina, the Arabic castle, the Greek Theatre and the volcano Etna, the most awesome. The village is attractive with very tiny stairs and alleys that follow the original Medieval layout, and the typical restaurants, wine bars and pizzerias. Interesting to visit the ruins of the Norman castle and the old Church San Giorgio of XIV century. Very charming in the night for the lighting and the view over the bay of Naxos. Extraordinary and very rare the front view of Etna in eruption with the red river of the lava flow along the volcano side.

Taormina
